本作は、アルメニア共和国の首都エレバンと、各地を巡る中で辿り着いた村リチクで実施したプロジェクトから成る。
欧州、アジア、中東の狭間にあり、地理的にだけでなく、様々な文化・文明の十字路に位置するアルメニア共和国。同国の人々は交易の民として歴史に残る活動を行ったといわれている。哲学者カントは、自著の中で「アルメニア人は、旧大陸全体にわたって交易をおこなっており、出会うすべての国民と平和裡に相互作用することに習熟している」と記している。そうした歴史に関心を持ったことをきっかけに、現代アルメニアで人々と物々交換を行った。現地の商人である青果店でいただいたカゴに、日本の着物のハギレを入れて町を歩いた。交換行為をきっかけとしながら、出会う人々の生活やこれまでの人生、いまを生きる上での考え方についての短い対話を試みた（全体で約40名の方が応答してくれた）。
偶然の巡り合わせ、ままならない言葉のやりとり、そこに生まれる空気。そうした時間の中で見た人々の姿。

This piece is based on the project conducted in Yerevan, capital of the Republic of Armenia, and the village of Lichk where I eventually reached whilst travelling the land.
Found in-between Europe, Asia and the Middle-East, the Republic of Armenia is positioned not only on a geographical crossroad, but also one of various cultures and civilisations. The philosopher Kant states in his writings that “the Armenians, who trade across almost the whole sketch of the ancient continent . . . who know how to be received peacefully by all the peoples they encounter on the way”. Since becoming interested in such historical backgrounds, I bartered with the people in modern Armenia. I walked around the town with Japanese kimono offcuts, placed inside a basket which was gifted from a local greengrocery business. Using the act of trading as a prompt, I opened short discussions on the lifestyle, life history and mindset around approaching life of the people I met (approximately 40 people responded in total).
Fortuitous encounters. Inconveniences around language. The mood thus created. – The people as I saw them inside this flow of time.
